The Vtalent Programme at City of Sunderland College - volunteering with a bonus! -

What is the Vtalent Programme?

City of Sunderland College aim to enlist 15 full-time volunteers – V15Team – to deliver a positive impact and make a positive contribution to the educational outcome for learners, primarily within the college.

The V15Team will be responsible for creating a range of projects and activities designed to complement and enhance students’ formal educational experience.

Volunteers in the V15team will aim to support students in realising their potential through the creation of relevant (extra-) curricular activities.

Volunteers will be able to get involved within the college in areas such as:

Bullet Point Image Learner Support  Bullet Point Image Prince's Trust  Bullet Point Image Duke of Edinburgh  Bullet Point Image Learning Disabilities  Bullet Point Image  Higher Education 

Volunteers will also enlist the help of other college students and this will create a vibrant network of students and volunteers who are dedicated to helping their peers realise their potential.

The Vtalent Programme offers you:

  • Undertake 44 weeks of high quality placements based at City of Sunderland College
  • Approximately 30 hours per week
  • An allowance of up to £100 per week
  • A full-time dedicated Support worker to offer support and guidance throughout the programme
  • A full induction to the City of Sunderland College and the Vtalent Programme
  • A review of your current skills and the completion of your own Personal Development Plan
  • An accredited Level 2 qualification or equivalent (minimum) such as: Teaching Assistant, Learner Support, Coaching, Outdoor Education
  • The opportunity to apply for a personal development grant of up to £1,500
